Up to ten of these at any one time are worn by the Maasai women and are designed to bounce rhythmically when they dance. Known for their vibrant dress and colorful beadwork, each color bead represents a different aspect of the Maasai culture: Bravery, (red), Energy (blue), Purity (white), Nourishment (green), Warmth & Generosity (orange), Cycle of Life (yellow ), and Black represents the color of the people and daily struggles - their unity and harmony.
